Perrys Field to Fork Artisan Butchery and Cookery School的点评
点评：Booked a bbq and burger making session for 2x 13 yr old grandkids for a total of £110.
Booking was easy . Online and initial confirmation information and follow up joining email were detailed - but turned out to be different from what was experienced.
The session was advertised as being led by a master butcher of 30 years experience ( see attached pic) - it was actually led by a very young man with 2 years experience (NVQ level2 ). We were assured he was a fully qualified butcher . He was a very nice young man who tried his best but it was his first time doing this. There was no price reduction to reflect this . We were disappointed as we were expecting someone very experienced- especially in view of the costs .
The advertised “secure”car parking was full already when we arrived so we had to find on street parking .
The school is in a nice purpose built place and seems well equipped and appointed .
We were met by a lady that we later ascertained was Debbie , the MD, who we felt was not very welcoming at all saying we had arrived very early (20 mins) . We had travelled 26 miles and hadn’t wanted to be late , which we explained . She also encouraged my husband and I to leave and go to a local cafe - although we’d planned to stay and watch . The course information said under 16s should be accompanied by an adult . She didn’t suggested that we stay. She said to come back at 12.30. We felt rather uncomfortable about the way we were treated and were concerned about our grandkids.
No welcome refreshments (as advertised) were offered to us , although I gather the kids were offered water subsequently . I gather parents who stayed were given a hot drink .
Debbie told us it was unlikely the kids would bbq because of the weather and she couldn’t confirm if they would be eating or not .
The timing was 11am start with a 1 pm finish - so a lunchtime slot . There were 6-7 participants.
We went into the butchers shop to raise our concerns with Steve - the master butcher (and owner) we were promised as the session leader in the booking confirmation ( see attached photo).
We ascertained that Debbie is his wife .
We weren’t stroppy or awkward but we did want to explain that our experience was different from what had been confirmed at booking .
He listened to our points and explained he had a hospital appointment that prevented him doing the session - that is understandable- but went on to say it can be any of the staff who do the events and wasn’t aware of what the website said . He said he would check up about what had happened but he offered no apology or really any acceptance of our points . He agreed we could go in and watch . He also confirmed that the kids would get food .
Burgers and koftas were cooked in frying pans by the kids inside ( it had rained ) and a bread bap was provided.
The class was all over by 12.20 although we were told in the email it would be 11-1 pm .
The kids said it was an ok experience but they didn’t learn anything about meat cuts etc ( again listed on the confirmation photo) and they had made burgers at school with fresh onions etc whereas this was using onion powder and seasoning mix.
On the plus side , they made 2 bbq items , they cooked , they ate and they brought home two/3 burgers each and 4/5 lamb koftas , raw to cook at home . They received a pencil each and a paper certificate plus the recipes were emailed ( but referred to a workbook we didn’t have 🤷♀️) .
Apparently we would have received discount on purchases made in the butchers shop because the kids had done the session .
Debbie asked the kids to put review on line - and so we have .

我们走进肉铺，向史蒂夫——那位在预订确认单上被指定为活动主持人的顶级屠夫兼店主——表达我们的担忧（见附上的照片）。我们确认了黛比是他的妻子。我们并没有发脾气或态度恶劣，只是想说明我们的体验与预订时所承诺的情况并不相符。他听取了我们的意见，并解释说自己有个医院预约，因此无法主持活动——这可以理解。不过他又说，其实任何工作人员都可以负责这类活动，而且他并不清楚网站上是怎么写的。他表示会去核实具体情况，但既没有道歉，也并未真正接受我们的意见。他同意让我们进去观看。他还确认孩子们会得到食物。孩子们在室内用平底锅煎汉堡和肉丸（当时下着雨），活动方还提供了面包。
虽然邮件中写明活动时间为上午11点至1点，但实际上12点20分活动就结束了。
孩子们觉得这次体验还可以，但他们并没有学到任何关于肉类切割之类的知识（这些内容原本在确认邮件的照片中有列出）。而且他们之前在学校里就曾用新鲜洋葱等材料制作过汉堡，而这次活动则使用的是洋葱粉和调味料混合物。
值得肯定的是，他们成功制作出了两样适合烧烤的食品。他们烹饪、进食，之后每人还带回家2到3个汉堡以及4到5个羊肉肉丸，这些都需要回家后自行烹饪。每人还得到了一支铅笔和一张纸质证书，食谱也通过电子邮件发送给了我们（不过上面提到的练习册我们并没有🤷♀️）。
据说因为孩子们参加了这个活动，我们本可以在肉店购买商品时享受折扣。
