Great Food, But the Spa Completely Missed the Mark

点评：Our stay at Horwood House for my birthday had some lovely moments, but unfortunately there were several disappointing aspects, particularly with the spa experience.
Firstly, I would like to highlight how fantastic Harry’s Bar was. We chose to have steak there as a birthday treat and it was absolutely amazing. Our waitress, Lola, was incredibly warm and welcoming and really helped make the evening special. She recommended cocktails and side dishes for us which were all 10/10. The service overall was excellent, with staff regularly checking in to make sure everything was okay, which we really appreciated.
Unfortunately, the spa experience was a real letdown. The massage felt very rushed and certainly did not feel like the full 25 minutes we had booked. What was most disappointing was that the therapist immediately made me feel uncomfortable. I felt rushed while getting ready and she walked in before I was ready, which happened twice. This made the whole experience feel hurried and quite awkward from the jump.
During the massage itself there was very little communication — I wasn’t asked about the pressure and nothing was explained during the treatment, which made it difficult to relax. As this was a birthday treat from my partner, it was particularly disappointing.
Because of this experience, I sadly wouldn’t choose to return for the spa. The pool area was also extremely overcrowded, which meant it wasn’t very relaxing, and we had to wait a long time just to use the sauna.
Overall, while the restaurant service was excellent, the spa experience unfortunately fell well below expectations.
