Excellent experience with Nkuringo Safaris

点评：We toured Uganda with Nkuringo Safaris in October 2026, following a bespoke 6-day itinerary focusing on chimpanzee and gorilla treks. In summary, we had the most brilliant time, and we can't imagine how it could have been improved.
We started at Entebbe Airport and were met by representatives from Nkuringo Safaris, including our guide, the wonderful Patrick Yiga ,who stayed with us throughout the trip. We were provided in advance with a detailed itinerary, and all of the travel requirements were exactly as described, and always ran on time. We stayed in three different lodges, including an overnight stay in Entebbe, two nights in the Turaco Treetops Lodge in Kibale National Park and four nights in the Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge in Bwindi National Park. All of the lodges were extremely comfortable, spacious, provided excellent meals and had great staff who looked after us extremely well.
This is not a review of the actual chimpanzee and gorilla treks, but these were amongst the most amazing experiences we have ever had. It's difficult to describe how wonderful it is to be within touching distance of these precious animals.
The success of this kind of trip is determined in large part by the quality of the safari guide who accompanies you for the majority of your time. We felt very lucky to be guided by Patrick, who was extremely knowledgable and worked hard to ensure that every aspect of the trip went as well as it could. He negotiated with the Rangers for our gorilla and chimp treks to ensure we were in small groups and were allocated the best gorilla family to see on that day. There were lots of little touches like chilled hand towels for us to cool-off with when we returned from a hot and humid trek through the rainforest, and plenty of bottled water, sanitiser, tissues, etc, available in our safari jeep. We also loved talking to Patrick about life in Uganda, which was an unexpected highlight of our time in the country.
This was our "bucket list" trip and in so many ways it exceeded our expectations. We are very happy to recommend Nkuringo Safaris to anyone who is also planning this kind of experience. Every aspect of our contact with the company was very good, prior to and during our trip. And if all their safari guides are as good as Patrick Yiga then you will be assured of a good experience.
