Stourbridge Glass Museum的点评
点评：Visited as part of a pre booked group of 30. Warm welcome on arrival, with tea, coffee & biscuits supplied. Volunteers & staff all very welcoming, friendly, well informed about the history & current circumstances about Glass manufacturing, & obviously enjoyed sharing their intetest with visitors.
The museum has an excellent & varied collection of glass items, from a pre history icon, Roman, Egyptian, Bavarian, & later British glass utensils. The tour explains how glass production probably started, the vital ingredients, & processes. They highlight the variations across the centuries & historic periods, up to modern day, & artistic creations.
On site is a franchise glass production business, & visitors can watch whilst the very talented crafts people produce awesome items. Visitors can buy from the workshop, or from an online range of artisan items.
There is also a very talented glass designer on site.
The museum has a small shop, that sells a small selection of local products & donated pre-owned glass items at 'charity shop' prices.
The museum sets up interesting 'glass related' exhibitions, that regularly changes.
As part of the booking, the museum also laid on a light cold lunch. There is good parking on site, with suitable facilities for less mobile visitors. Overall, a fascinating & enjoyable 3 hour visit.
