点评：Definitely do this! You'll love learning about how it's done, watching art made in front of you, and making something for yourself to bring home! (***At least day or more later.)
My teen loves creating things through art. Her birthday this year was a group of 5 girls, and myself. We booked the $250 1hr session, and it was perfect for this occasion. No one in our group had any experience with molten glass. Each person got to interact with the molten glass and tools on 3 separate occasions thoughout our session.
The first time is after Ben's explanation of what he does, his history of creating with glass, what we do in the session, and the basics about the tools. This was followed by a demonstration and hands-on instruction for each person on how to use the tools, how the glass "behaves," and to get the general feel of it.
After that, he assisted each person in making a rose (easier said than done for first timers!).
Lastly, we each chose colors and a stamp we wanted for our stamped ornaments.
He ended the session with a short demonstration on blown glass (something our group didn't have enough time to do, as it's more skilled and involved. If you want to do blown glass in your session, I recommend less people and/or the longer session).
Each person was able to keep their rose and ornament. Anything else he created while we were there also went home with us (the birthday girl), including the small bottle he created at the end of the session while demonstrating how to make a blown glass piece.
We will definitely go back for a more involved session.
***If you are visiting from out of town, make it your FIRST stop. Glass creations will likely need final touches from Ben (smoothing edges, etc...). This means your piece may be ready for pickup in 24hrs or more (ours was ready 2 to 3 days later). Definitely mention this at the time of booking, if you're only in town a few days.
Locals, you'll circle back another day to grab your finished pieces.
