Flotilla Sailing with Castles and Pasta

点评：I would highly recommend this sailing adventure for those sailors looking for something new and a little more challenging but with the guidance of a lead crew. The staff at the Procida base were very easy to work with. We came into Procida a day prior to the start of the charter we were able to complete our paperwork & deposit the evening before to help streamline the process the following day. The sailboat, a Sunsail 41.1, was a great fit for three couples to share. The boat was clean and well maintained. The welcome pizza party on the first night was a great chance to meet and greet the other crews in the flotilla.
The marina at Procida was clean and located near to the ferry docks from Naples. There was a small grocery store right next to the marina to provision the boat, and they even delivered our order to the boat. There were many restaurants within easy walking distance of the marina.
Each day our lead crew of Eleno, Alessandra, and Gian Carlo provided briefings about the days’ sailing, marinas and any unique features to the islands we were visiting. They included all the captains in the discussion regarding how to approach situations where the weather presented challenges. We always felt they kept the flotilla’s safety as a priority.
The islands of Procida, Ischia, Ventotene and Ponza were all unique in their character presented a chance to visit a slice of Italy a little off the beaten path. Anchoring below the Aragonese Castle on Ischia was spectacular! Each of the boats had a copy of the Italian Waters Pilot Book with details of all the anchorages and marinas we visited during the flotilla. It was a handy guide to supplement information we got during the briefings.
