Lovely woodlands and lakes, however some issues and dog welfare concern

点评：We are NT members and this was our first visit here to Sheffield Park, going on a bank holiday so we knew it would be busy. We were able to find a car parking space without any issue (arriving midday) and there is an overflow car park if required.
We brought the family dog in to the park who really enjoyed the woods and other dogs were well behaved. When walking to the entrance, we noticed a car which was unattended, windows closed with dogs barking from inside it setting off its car alarm. We did not know how long the dogs were inside for, but later found out that other visitors had noticed the dogs barking for an hour before we parked. We got back to our car some 3 hours later(so minimum 4 hours that what turned out to be 5 dogs, 2 in crates) had been left unattended in a likely very warm car with no ventilation. We decided to contact staff about this as this was unacceptable. The staff were very good and were going to call the police to hopefully force entry to the car and rescue the dogs who sounded like they were in distress. However the owners returned a short while later, totally ignorant and arrogant saying "well they had water" and "why are you looking in my car". It was unbelievable and to take dogs to lovely woodland where you could walk them but prefer to leave them in a warm car for at least 4 hours is totally out of order. The staff said that they were unable to get the message through to them about doing this. It was very upsetting to see the dogs treated like this.
Going back to the park, there were lovely trails, and woodlands. The lakes were superb with stunning views. Catering needs to be improved with long queues but many brought a picnic along and chilled by the lake.
Really recommended and a lovely scenic place to go, just upsetting to see how some owners treat their dogs.
