The Kilted Guide的点评
点评：This was my third trip with Jim and after each trip I can’t wait to start planning the next one- or to move to Scotland. My friend and I had 5 days and Jim planned a trip that included highlights that most visitors see and places that the average tourist would never know about which highlight unique aspects of Scottish history and culture. We saw Scotland from east to west to east with an itinerary that included must see items for the first time visitor and new and less known treasures for the repeat visitor. Jim’s knowledge about Scottish history, culture, arts, language, and architecture is vast and he willingly shares it with enthusiasm that is infectious. If he knows you have a particular interest, Jim will make sure the tour includes it- he made sure we saw libraries and bookstores along the way and this tour’s highlight included Wigtown, Scotland’s book town and Robert Burns’ home on the same day. And speaking of Robert Burns, Jim recited Tam O’Shanter outside Burns’ birthplace- what other guide would do that. What sets Jim apart from most guides besides his expansive knowledge and love of his subject is his kindness, friendliness, and approachability. He really gets to know his guests and even as the tour evolves he makes adjustments to address their interests and accommodate their needs, which in our case included taking us to COSTCO to buy an extra bag for all the books I bought. Jim makes Scottish history come alive and if you didn’t love Scotland when you started the tour, you will love it when you finish. I am already planning the next trip. Jim is truly an outstanding guide who cares about his visitors and who makes Scottish history and culture come alive.
