点评：We took over our boat in Horning and it was a decision to go up river to Wroxham and then under the bridge ( which required the bridge pilot), or go downriver. I telephoned the pilot, he asked the height of the boat and he said come along and call me when you arrive. We arrived at the bridge, moored temporarily and I called him.” With you straight away,” he said. We waited 10-15 minutes, during which time no boats with a pilot passed under the bridge.
I decided to call again and he said “ just finishing some paperwork” .
He arrived 10 mins. later approached the bridge and said he was not confident he could get under the bridge without the possibility of a scratch to the boat.
In all we has wasted about 39- 40 minutes hanging about on our first trip out and we returned down river.
I am sure I could have managed the boat myself under the bridge.
The pilot was useless and spoiled much of our time on our first day.
This is not the professional service we should expect Monday 6th July 4pm
