点评：We arrived in Jamaica on a Carnival shore excursion called "Beach Break: Harmony Beach and Craft Market", a few months after a hurricane hit the island. Our guide, Sasha, was a vibrant lady with a contagious positive attitude and the ability to make things happen. Our cruise ship did not arrive at the port on schedule, but she immediately informed us that the beach is only 15 minutes away from the cruise terminal. Additionally, Sasha provided us with an overview of Jamaican culture and examples of how to communicate using the local dialect.
The beach was beautiful, and the water was an aqua blue color. Despite comments from previous reviews, there was absolutely no chaos at the beach, only tourists and locals enjoying the beautiful scenery. Life guards and security were present in adequate numbers. However, I recommend bringing water shoes because there are occasional small rocks and shells on the bottom. Lunch at the beach exceeded all expectations. From our arrival at the beach to our departure, it was clear that Sasha had a close working relationship with all the key groups, making sure we enjoyed a wonderful beach day.
Previous reviews indicated that vendors at the Craft Market stalked tourists like prey. Our visit was the complete opposite. The vendors were friendly and seemed to enjoy negotiating over the sale of each item. Our 13-year-old son enjoyed this part of the excursion the most. Sasha's presence and relationship with the vendors made a huge difference.
I strongly recommend this shore excursion when visiting Jamaica.
