点评：Visited Gisburn Forest to do a trail walk earlier this week. I wish that I'd read the earlier reviews regarding information for walkers. I agree, don't go here if you want a well signed, peaceful walk with a reasonably priced car park. As you naturally would, we drove to The Gisburn Forest Hub. This is NOT where the walking trails begin. By the time we'd used the toilets (not bad on this occasion), sat out a short rain shower and tried to make sense of the information board, we had used up the free 20 minute period (there's ANPR) and were into the subsequent extortionate rates. Damage done, we decided to walk the Link Trail to to the spot where the walks actually start - Stocks Resevoir Car Park. This is much cheaper than the Hub car park but you'll not see that advertised anywhere. As we'd already committed to a four mile Link Walk, we decided to do a fairly modest trail called Eggbury. It's listed on the information board, it's shown on the trail map but, we tried for about 40 mins to find the start and failed. Gave up and walked back to The Hub. Also, the walking trails aren't exclusive to walkers so there is the hazard of mountain bikers flying past.
As I note, Forestry England have not responded to the previous critical reviews, or attempted in anyway to address the shortcomings, I presume that they don't care about the public enjoying the facility but are happy to continue ripping off unsuspecting members of the public.
There is some lovely walking in this area but avoid this one!
