点评:A Victorian malthouse that Canterbury is quietly proud of, and fair enough, there is something to it. The conversion gives you exposed brick, decent sightlines and a main auditorium that seats just over three hundred without feeling cavernous. Intimate enough that you are actually watching a show rather than squinting at a distant stage like you have made a terrible life decision. The show itself was solid. Competent, well intentioned, the sort of thing a theatre this size does reliably without ever threatening to genuinely surprise you. Service was the weak spot. Some staff were warm and on it, others gave you the distinct impression they would rather be literally anywhere else on earth, which at these prices you clock immediately. Tickets and drinks are fairly priced for Canterbury though, so no drama there. Worth your evening if something on the programme speaks to you. Not worth the trip on reputation alone.
