After submitting a review about our experience, the company responded and stated that a refund would be issued and that the gift card provided would be deactivated because it would not be useful to us. We do not live in Texas, so a gift card was not a reasonable solution for us. We were told by the company themselves that a refund would be processed.
After receiving that response, we waited and followed up through the appropriate channels asking for an update on the refund. We provided all requested information, including proof of the gift card amount and the company’s own response confirming the refund. Unfortunately, we have received no response and no resolution.
It is very frustrating to be publicly told that something will be handled, only to be ignored when trying to follow up privately. A business should stand behind what they tell their customers and communicate properly, especially when they acknowledge an issue.
At this point, because Houston Party Barge has failed to follow through on the refund they promised and has not responded to our attempts to resolve this, we will be moving forward with filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I hope this can still be resolved, but customers deserve honesty, communication, and accountability. I would encourage anyone considering booking with this company to be aware of our experience and make sure you understand their refund policies before spending your money.
