And Jonathan, our cook, was absolutely incredible. Even in remote conditions, he prepared delicious meals every single day with care and consistency. It is rare to find someone who brings such warmth and positivity into the journey through food.
As a documentary photographer, I travel frequently to remote regions and work with many operators around the world, but this experience stood out for its sincerity, smooth organization, and human connection. South Sudan is a challenging destination, yet Boma Hills made us feel safe, welcomed, and deeply connected to the people and culture.
