Beautiful Homestay and Incredible Sinharaja Tour
Sinharaja Rainforest Kurulugala Entrance的点评
点评：I stayed at Deniyaya Guest housw- a lovely homestay in Deniyaya and also did a guided tour with the owner through the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. It was an amazing experience and one of the highlights of my trip.
The journey itself is already beautiful. The whole area is surrounded by tea plantations and stunning scenery. Along the way you can see old stone walls and traces of the region’s history. The forest itself feels truly special. You can immediately feel that this is a place that has remained alive and undisturbed for a very long time, with huge canopy trees creating an incredible atmosphere.
My guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot about the plants, including their traditional medicinal and culinary uses, which made the walk much more interesting. He knows the place well and spotted many animals I would not be able to notice by myself. There is also an amazing waterfall that really felt like stepping into another world.
It rained quite heavily during my walk, but that actually added to the rainforest feeling. I saw monkeys, lizards and many insects. The forest feels incredibly alive and immersive throughout the whole experience.
I also highly recommend staying at the homestay itself. After spending time in hotels, it was really nice to stay somewhere more personal and authentic. The food was delicious and the village is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. Take a small walk toward the temple - there are beautiful rice paddies, monkeys and lovely scenery all around.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience nature and a more authentic side of Sri Lanka.
