Rock of Cashel的点评
点评：Most of the area is covered with the basic entrance ticket, but if you want to see Cormac’s chapel as well, you need to get an extra ticket. This chapel was consecrated in 1134 and is one of the most well-preserved Romanesque churches in all of Ireland.
Reconstruction took many years and even now, when you step inside, everything does smell a bit moist and humid. It is a stunning piece of history and definitely worth a visit, especially as you can only head inside with the tour guide who has lots of information about it for you.
A tour is definitely a great choice if you want to learn more about the history of the Rock, and you can only visit the Cormac’s chapel as part of the tour. There are limited numbers of people allowed inside each day. But it’s also really great just to walk around on your own and explore the entire area. From up here you also have a lovely view over Cashel on the one side, and Hore Abbey on the other.
