点评：If this is your era of historical interest your in for a treat. John our guide has incredible detailed knowledge along with the other assistants, what an informative tour. We went with friends, one a retired wing commander who was also suitably impressed. There are so many of the old buildings still there including the cinema, albeit sadly in poor repair but don't let this deter you. Although there are walks in the area, much of the airfield is not accessible legally at other times so well worth the £10 a head to see it all. Take some cash to buy a postcard, cards or lapel pin, all cheap and it goes to the preservation of this historical site, no card payments. Quite a lot of walking but if you know this era of history, you know the size of these airfields. Take drinks, snacks, especially if it's hot, nothing there although a trip to Long Melford 5 minutes down the road will supply Cafes & restaurants, decent Cafe at the garden centre. Beautiful views there and a lovely memorial to those that fell. Feel like I need to do it again to take all the info in so maybe again next year. For £10, its 5* all the time, don't know what some people expect for a tenner if its not 5*.
