Great piece of pretty authentic TR history!
Maltese Cross Cabin的点评
点评：This cabin is currently located just behind the Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Entrance visitors center.
It is the first cabin Theodore Roosevelt owned in the Badlands and was relocated from private properly about 7 miles away. It was built by his ranch hands after he purchased the available ranch on his first visit to the Badlands.
We waited for one of the ranger talks at the cabin, which was worth doing! Park rangers and their love for our national treasures is both inspiring and contagious. These cabin logs were made from the same wood used for railroad ties - and 80% of the wood is original!
Of interesting note: this cabin included the then-unheard of luxury in the West at the time of a private bedroom for Theodore himself.
Both the ranger chat and touring the cabin itself in its beautiful setting are worthwhile.
