Wayfarer Wines的点评
点评：After my beautiful friend won a wine tasting experience at Wayfarer Wines, she invited me. And despite my complete lack of knowledge or experience in the wine tasting world, I accepted her invite. And I’m sooooo glad I did.
We were met by the very lovely Dawn, who immediately made us feel at ease and showed us to our table.
Surrounded by countryside views, beehives, and vines, the stresses of everyday life became a distant memory.
Then Karen arrived, with the first of our wines, and things went from awesome, to exceptional!
Karen was sooooooo knowledgeable and passionate. Talking about wine in a way that lovers talk about each other. Her passion was evident from the get go.
We were invited to explore the vineyard at our leisure, and reassured that food and more wine would follow.
As we strolled around the vineyard we admired the way nature had been allowed to breathe, and thrive, around the vines that stood proud, with their bounty of grapes a tribute to the love and care that had gone into producing them.
Due for harvest next week, we saw the grapes at their absolute best. What a privilege.
And as we returned to our now sun drenched bench, to enjoy more of the delicious wine, produced within eyesight of where we sat, we reflected on just how lucky we were.
As the afternoon progressed, we were treated to an amazing cheese table. Carefully selected to meet my friends very specific tastes. And it did not disappoint. I was amazed to hear all the cheeses were local. Who knew what amazing producers we had in our local area.
The rest of our afternoon was spent in joyful sunshine. Conversation flowed as we talked about the importance of championing local produce. And there is much to champion here!
The way Karen and Matt care for the vineyard, and the pride Dawn has in working there, is absolutely reflected in the quality of the wines on offer.
They were as unique as the people that produce them. Each one oozing with character and charm.
It is rare in this world to find a company that are doing the right thing, because it is the right thing to do. But this absolutely rings true for Wayfarers.
Working with nature, not against it. The meadow that surrounds the vines and clear presence of the bee hives that pollinate them is a real breathe of fresh air. In all of the ways!
I wish Karen and Matt all the luck in the world. Not that they will need it, with the quality of what they are producing absolutely speaking for itself.
So if you find yourself with a free weekend, or in need of an amazing gift for a friend, or even a venue for a team meeting or party. Look now further. Wayfarer can and will provide. Along with a huge dose of humility and passion.
