Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari的点评
点评：Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is a truly special place worth visiting. I’d even say it’s a sacred place. Major MUST for nature or conservation lovers. Once you enter thru the predator proof fencing you leave behind the modern hustle & bustle of humanity - and enter an ancient forest. Untouched my human hands. Seriously breath taking. There is such a level of sacredness to this place that you just feel when you enter. A place where Mother Nature is respected, honored & cherished.
The sanctuary is well maintained and clearly focused on conservation. You can do a self guided tour OR book a walking tour. We did the walking tour first so we could learn as much info as possible. The woman who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable, stopping to show us all the nature highlights in this protected forest.
The ancient trees that shoot up so so far your eyes can barely see the top is just something out of a storybook. The base trunks are so thick & so beautiful to see in person. Some trees were several hundred years old!
After our informational walk with the guide, we stayed to venture around more. We made sure to hit all the trails so enjoy every inch of the sanctuary. The trails are beautiful. The ancient trees loom over you- vines covered in moss dangle- birds fly around.
This place is just so magical. A place that values protecting Mother Nature & all her creatures. Your ticket goes to help keep this place alive. Visit. Enjoy the stunning trails thru a place like no other & leave the modern world behind to venture around the ancient forest of Maungatautari!
