Dreadful experience- after ten years we won’t be coming back again

点评：We’ve been coming to Mac’s Farm for years as a large family group with children, and sadly we’ve watched the atmosphere change for the worse.
From the moment we arrived this year, several members of staff consistently made us feel unwelcome. We completely understand that campsites need rules and that everyone should be respectful of other campers, but it now feels like there’s no enjoyment left.
At 10:10pm, a member of staff came over and told us they had been awake since 6am, were tired, and that we needed to go to our tents. We weren’t being loud, playing music, or causing any disturbance—we were simply sitting together talking. It felt completely unnecessary and left us feeling like we were being treated as a nuisance rather than valued returning customers.
The restrictions also seem to increase every year. During an intended heatwave, we were told off for using water, despite the site having no water supply on the Friday, which was already incredibly inconvenient. There are no campfires or fire pits, no Saturday football match anymore, no music, and generally no sense that families can relax and enjoy themselves.
We’ve always respected the site, cleaned up after ourselves, and followed the rules, but the balance has shifted too far. Camping should be about making memories with family and friends, not feeling like you’re constantly worried about being told off.
It’s genuinely disappointing because this used to be one of our favourite places to camp. Unfortunately, after this experience, we’ll be looking elsewhere in the future.
