点评:The Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama is a highly unique and incredibly entertaining attraction, making it a must visit for instant ramen enthusiasts, families with kids, or anyone who is simply a kid at heart. To make it even better, the general admission fee is very affordable. The museum does an excellent job of showcasing the fascinating history of instant noodles, featuring a massive, visually stunning room covered entirely in walls of vintage noodle cups from all over the world and different eras.
The absolute highlight of the visit is without a doubt the My Cup Noodle Factory workshop. You start by getting a blank, empty noodle cup where you can sit down to write your name and draw your own custom artwork on it. Once your masterpiece is finished, you take it to the active ramen bar conveyor line. Here, you get to fully customize your meal by choosing your preferred soup base flavor and picking out your own combination of toppings. Watching your personalized cup get mechanically sealed right in front of you is so much fun. They even provide a neat, clear inflatable bubble bag to pack your customized cup safely for travel, which looks incredibly cute.
On the flip side, there are some notable downsides to be prepared for. The museum can get incredibly busy, and you should expect to face heavy crowds and long lines, particularly during the cup customization workshop, which can make the environment feel a bit hectic rather than relaxing. Additionally, they have a nice, internationally themed food court area offering different types of noodles from around the world. However, ordering can be challenging as they utilize a vending machine ticket system that lacks clear English instructions. To add to the confusion, the staff member we encountered at the stand seemed completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of customers and spoke no English, making the interaction feel rather strained and less than welcoming.
Despite these minor operational hurdles, it remains a wonderful, memorable experience to add to your itinerary if you happen to be exploring the beautiful Yokohama harbor area.
