Must do day trip if you are visiting Foinikounta. Tasos was a fantastic host, very friendly, indelibly knowledgeable of the local area and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a great day out. He even set up a bed in the boats cabin so our 2 year old could have a nap on the way back. During our trip we explored Methoni’s underwater archeological park. This included two shipwrecks. One of which we stopped off to snorkel at. This shipwreck featured 3000 year old sunken sarcophaguses that need to be seen to be believed. After this we stoped off at beautiful beach on the island of Sapientza, where the water was crystal blue and 25 degrees. Finally we stopped at some caves where Tasos escorted us off the boat to swim too and explore inside. A truely fantastic day out. If we return to Foinikounta we will be visiting Tasos again.
