点评:Having first visited 3 years ago to specifically see the pilgrims gallery I recently visited Retford during the school half term with children and other relatives for a cheap day out. Having had such a good impression on my 1st visit we were not disappointed on returning to the museum again and were very happy to leave a donation for the upkeep and work which goes into maintaining this wonderful building and its treasure trove of local history. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and my nephews even had a go at clay sculpting which the museum had provided freely for half term family entertainment which we hadn't expected. The displays are well maintained and varied and though it is a small space the building itself warrants a visit as does the immaculate garden. More pleasing was that the museum has continued to evolve and improve. Since I last came they have added a fab children's play area in the garden and new displays regarding the wampanoag in the pilgrims gallery along with a replica wetu (wigwam) in the garden. Thank you to all staff and volunteers for maintaining this wonderful museum. For new visitors it is less than a 10 minute walk from the car parks by the market place and the garden and downstairs of the building are wheelchair accessible.
