3 of us got the same cask ale, other went for a keg beer. All 3 cask pints had strange colour and taste, with bits floating in it,. Fair enough the bar man changed them and said it was bottom of the barrel…. 1 yes but not all 3 should look the same.
Then food arrived…..
One order came, then after 5 mins of waiting I told them to start eating so it wasn’t cold….
15 mins later the rest of our food arrived, and it was all cold. I had to ask for the sides to be reheated, as I was having fish I didn’t want to risk them microwaving it.
I had sea and earth for £14, belly pork and scollops . Belly pork said 24 hours slow cooked. What I got was 1 cold small piece that was tough as old boots and 1 king scollops which was also cold and had to roe on. £14 for this dish, and sadly the small plates were bigger and cheaper than this main dish. Best part of the meal was the twice cooked fries at £4, and only twice cooked as they arrived cold first time.
The main building is impressive, but for a Tuesday night it was quiet, and the food shouldn’t arrive cold.
I don’t think I would return and certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone, only rated it two as I saw the bar man changed the cask beer to a different beer, other wise it would have been a 1

我点了份“海陆大地”,14英镑,五花肉和扇贝。菜单上说五花肉慢炖了24小时。结果端上来的是一小块冷冰冰的五花肉,硬得像老靴子,还有一只扇贝,也是冷的,而且上面还有鱼籽。这道菜要14英镑,可惜的是,小份菜的分量都比这道主菜大,价格也更便宜。这顿饭里最好吃的部分是4英镑的炸薯条,炸了两次才算炸了两次,因为第一次上来的时候是冷的。
主楼确实很气派,但周二晚上人却很少,而且食物不应该是冷的。
我想我不会再来了,也绝对不会推荐给任何人。之所以只给了两星,是因为我看到酒保把桶装啤酒换成了另一种,不然的话我只会给一星。
