点评:We are group of 4 couples who had a night away in Llandudno and decided on the distillery tour. It is located in an old school built around 1880 Grade 2 building and has been sympathetically adapted.
It’s an hour tour - but doesn’t feel rushed. The first exhibition area explains the history of the school, people of Llandudno and history of Penderyn.
You then enter the production area, the water used is from the Great Orme , and the full process is explained- and how it is essential to reduce costs by recycling materials and use of energy.
As you would expect a very knowledgeable guide who explained how the unique single copper pot worked to make this unique product.
There is no bottling done on site ( quite a low number of staff in the team ) and the casks are stored in a bonded warehouse in Brecon .
Interesting to learn that the waste mush is given to local farmers that they use as animal feed.
After the tour there is an opportunity to understand how the different casks flavour the whisky - and then we were taken to the sample area - to taste two types of the unique Welsh liquid.
Excellent value , booked online cost £13:50 a person .
