点评：At the beginning of the month we explored using The Torrisholme Taps as the venue for a discrete Wake or Celebration of Life event. Brian could not have made the arrangements simpler or clearer - we were looking for an informal gathering where attendees could share memories, tell tales and help each other move forward in a respectful but open manner. The suggested catering options fully met our requirements; the soup was generous in quantity and the quality drew many favourable expressions. The quality of the finger food buffet met and exceeded our expectations. The beer was cold and the coffee/tea was hot just as required. Brian and his colleague made us all feel welcome and strived to ensure that all were looked after. Arriving a little uncertain as to what to expect, we left convinced that our event could not have been better hosted elsewhere. We had planned for 25-40 persons and although ending up at the lower end, the place felt homely and quite up to the task.
Parking in Torrisholme has changed markedly over the years and after dropping off outside those whose mobility is not what it was, vehicles can be considerately left within 100 yards or so. A quick recce pays dividends and helps the neighbours.
