点评:Toe Shop Grindelwald Terminal has a great selection of clothing, gifts, and souvenirs, and we found several things we liked. Unfortunately, what my sister and I witnessed during our visit completely overshadowed the experience.
Around 1:00–1:30 p.m. on June 24, 2026, we watched two women who were clearly struggling with a language barrier while trying to pay. They appeared to be attempting to pay with euros when Swiss francs were required. Rather than calmly explaining the situation or helping them understand, the cashier with curly hair repeatedly waved their money in front of them and said, “Swiss money. Swiss money. Swiss money,” in what came across as a mocking and demeaning tone.
The two women looked embarrassed and eventually walked away. After they left, the cashier and her blonde coworker laughed together and mocked them right in front of us. I was so uncomfortable that I told them it was rude to make fun of customers before leaving.
Language barriers and unfamiliar currencies can be confusing, especially for tourists. Customer service employees should be patient and helpful, not humiliating. As someone who witnessed the entire interaction, it genuinely appeared to me that the women were being mocked because they were foreigners, which made the situation even more upsetting.
I hope management addresses this, because no customer deserves to be treated that way.
