I strongly recommend avoiding this company.
I rented a car in Greece for a week. On the final day, the vehicle broke down approximately two and a half hours from the airport, while my flight was due to leave in only about 2 hours and 30 minutes. This put me under enormous pressure and created a genuine risk of missing my flight.
The way the situation was handled was extremely frustrating. Instead of having a quick and straightforward solution, valuable time was spent arranging what to do next. I eventually received a replacement vehicle, but I arrived at the airport with almost no time to spare and genuinely feared missing my flight.
The company later stated that they had immediately arranged a taxi to take me to a service point to collect the replacement vehicle. I acknowledge that transportation and a replacement vehicle were eventually arranged. However, from my perspective, the process took valuable time during an emergency when I was already dangerously close to my flight departure.
They also refused to reimburse the taxi, stating that there were alleged fuel shortages on both vehicles. I completely dispute this allegation. I have messages and other evidence supporting my version of events.
The most serious issue is that the company subsequently claimed that the clutch failure was caused by “improper clutch use.” I completely reject this allegation. I drove the vehicle normally and responsibly throughout the rental period, and I was never informed of any improper driving before the breakdown.
They say that an authorised dealership attributed the failure to improper clutch use. However, no independent technical evidence demonstrating that I caused the failure through improper driving has been provided to me.
After the breakdown, I opened the bonnet and checked the vehicle. I have photographs documenting an extremely low/absent engine oil level, which I will include with this review.
I am not claiming that a photograph of the oil level alone proves exactly what caused the clutch failure. However, finding a rental vehicle in this condition raises serious and legitimate questions about its maintenance. Their statement that the vehicle undergoes the required inspections does not, by itself, answer those concerns.
They also claimed that I caused damage to the right-hand side of the rear bumper. I completely dispute that I caused this damage. They say their before-and-after photographs prove it, but the existence of a charge or a record made by the rental company does not automatically prove that I personally caused the damage.
I also dispute their claim that I returned the vehicles with less fuel than required. I have evidence and messages that contradict their version of events.
The company says that these charges were based on documented discrepancies rather than arbitrary allegations. I understand that they have their own photographs and rental records, but I have evidence supporting my side as well, and I believe customers should be able to see both sides before deciding who they believe.
One thing I do acknowledge is that they did not charge me for the clutch repair itself. However, that does not change my experience of the breakdown, the time pressure, the disputed taxi expense, or the subsequent damage and fuel claims.
Overall, this was an extremely stressful and disappointing experience: a vehicle suffered a mechanical failure far from the airport immediately before my flight, I was placed under severe time pressure, and I subsequently had to deal with disputed charges and allegations that I strongly contest.
My experience also left me with the impression that car rental companies can sometimes focus more on additional charges and protecting themselves than on properly assisting customers when something goes wrong.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering renting from this company carefully document the condition of the vehicle, fuel level and everything else at both pickup and return, including photographs and timestamps.
I stand by my original review. I will also provide the photographs and evidence I have so that potential customers can make their own informed judgment.
