点评:We were traveling in Tuscany with a friend and the hotel in Montalcino recommended Podere Il Casale for a cooking class/ lunch. All 3 of us felt it was a highlight of our trip! We were warmly greeted by Sandra the owner and her son Ivan. After giving us a brief history of the farm and their family we were escorted into a beautiful Tuscan kitchen to begin our cooking adventure. All the produce/ ingredients are from the farm. Sandra and Ivan walked us through making pici pasta, preparing a gorgeous pork roast with farm potatoes and vegetables and making biscotti. We laughed and drank wine during the cooking!
While Sandra and Ivan did the final steps we were seated beside the fireplace in the dining and served a gorgeous cheese plate - all produced on the farm. And more wine of course. We were then served the pasta we made, followed by the pork roast and finally the biscotti. The wait staff were friendly and welcoming and Sandra served each dish to us herself.
We were lucky to visit in December on a beautiful warm, clear day. The views from the property are stunning. Sandra and Ivan are passionate about good food, wine and nature. They are enormously proud of their home , farm and restaurant.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this unique, authentic and fun experience.
