Great River Rafting Experience

点评：5 of us booked a rafting excursion on the Arkansas River in Colorado. It was a great experience as we went on over 10 mile long river raft with class 2 and 3 rapids. It was safe for kids over 8 years. Our river raft guide Xander was skilled, knowledgeable and experienced and did a great job navigating and keeping us all safe. During our ride, we saw 3 big horn sheep at the side of the river, and even were able to jump out of the raft for a swim in safe areas. I liked that the rafting company was a local small business and wasn’t overbooked like some bigger and corporate companies. Each raft can do up to 6 riders plus a guide. In our group we had 5 in one raft and 4 in another. The rapid areas were fun and you did get splashed. The company does provide helmets that you must wear and a personal floatation vest. You can also check out a 2 piece wet suit if you don’t like getting wet. We opted for the afternoon ride and we were on the river by around 2:00 and concluded around 4:30. The 2 groups were driven by van for about 15 min. to the launch point and were picked up down river at the end of the trip via same van. Each rider received a full safety briefing and how to use the paddles and when. Everyone has to paddle, but they can make special arrangements for those with medical or injury conditions. The beginning was slow, lazy and relaxing, then picked up about midway with majority of the class 3 rapids being towards the end. Price was reasonable at around $80/person, for the 3 hour trip. You can get Groupon discount by contacting the rafting company directly they will honor or beat the Groupon deal that is available at the time. Also the class two or three Rapids change depending on the season or time of year with the river being higher in the June early July time frame then in August when we went but we still had a great time. I highly recommend Wolfpack rafting and we will definitely use them again in the near future as I get more family members to come up to do this.
