Quinta Do Canhoto的点评
点评：We went to Quinta do Canhoto (a fifth generation Portuguese family winery) for a vineyard and winery tour and a wine tasting with another couple. It was probably the most informative wine tour we have been on - and we’ve done a few.
Our guide spoke excellent English, was very well informed about the wine and family business. We started in the garden with an explanation of the different trees and how the family uses the most efficient and environmentally friendly processes. We then went for a tour of the vineyard where she explained the different grape varieties and soil components. Next we had a tour of the winery and had the process of wine making explained very well. They make an orange wine there that was very interesting and I brought home a bottle!!!
Because they are a small family owned winery they are experimenting with some different processes i.e. putting barrels of wine into the ocean to ferment. Very interesting!
We then headed into a beautiful building for our tasting. 3 different tastings (plus we got a bonus tasting because we were a small group) and a charcuterie board. It was lovely and tasty snack.
A great tour and a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Well worth the ticket price!
