Well run, friendly bar with great service and a good range of drinks

点评：This is Barry’s one beacon of hope in a town of disappointing and moderately desperate drinking holes, apart from The Sidings at Goodsheds, this was the only decent place to drink in Barry.
From the moment you arrive the welcome is enthusiastic, professional and friendly, be warned though, despite not serving food I have read that it’s advisable to book as it gets busy, and busy it was, only just managing to get a table on our first visit until a certain time.
The décor is well thought out and the staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic and tasters are readily offered if you need help making your mind up. The location is also lovely just by the waterfront, so you can sit outside on a sunny day if that’s your thing. It is also dog-friendly, babies too for some reason!
There is a wide range of beers, ciders, perries and wines on offer, though I would have liked to have seen a Wheat Beer on draft (or at least bottles) but that’s just my personal preference.
We did have a friendly chat with one of the owners as we left after our second visit and it’s very clear that all the owners care very much in the products and the service they provide.
Can thoroughly recommend spending a few hours here with something nice to slurp, you won’t be sorry.
