点评:Based in distant Agios Gordios, we visited the Paleokastritsa area as part of a day trip. Of the many beaches the town boasts, we only experienced this one, which is recommended not only for its stunning beauty, but also because the large adjacent paid parking lot makes parking easy.
Having read previous reviews of the beach, I can only agree that its beauty is overshadowed by the crowds. Indeed, the dozens of people simultaneously present in the same space on the beach (almost all of which is free to access) make it less pleasant than it could be. And what's more, we visited on a Sunday.
However, the fact that our stay was in mid-June (and not July or August) mitigated the problems. We were able to set up our umbrella at a reasonable distance from the other beachgoers, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful setting of the beach, which is enclosed by two rocky yet verdant promontories like a pincer, yet still leaves a wide opening towards the open sea. Here, we were able to enjoy swimming in the emerald green water, creating an unforgettable memory of the place.
As with many beaches in Corfu, public changing rooms and showers make it easy for swimmers to use the area.
