点评：We are a couple in our 70’s and have been married over 50 years. Early in our marriage, we had a ‘fishing agreement’. I would fish and she would let me! Now that we are both retired, I wanted to get her to start fishing also. I needed to have her experience what a successful fishing trip could be. I researched and planned a guided trout fishing trip. I showed her on-line videos of various guided trips on Lake Taneycomo. I knew she was ready to go when I discovered she had started watching early morning ‘fishing shows’ on television.
Looking back at the videos and reading on-line reviews led us to contact John Sappington as a guide. He was a former tournament fisherman with a thorough knowledge of the Lake Taneycomo fishery.
Neither of us had ever used a fly rod before and had never fished for trout before. This was not an obstacle for John. He gave us a crash course in Lake Taneycomo ‘drift’ fishing.
We fished the ‘Trophy Area’ from 8am until Noon. My wife landed close to 20 trout and I landed about 16 or 17. Both of us landed fish in the 18-20 inch size range and we each lost a few ‘good ones’. All the fish we caught were immediately released unharmed.
If you want to have an excellent fishing experience, I highly recommend John Sappington as a Lake Taneycomo trout fishing guide. The fee was vacation money well spent!
