点评：Every four weeks, I engage in a ritual designed to make me look good (as good as an 85-year-old retired Chicagoan can look, that is), feel good (ditto) and fill my innards with tasty, creamy Fannie May chocolates. I get a haircut (I still have enough hair on my head to cut) and manicure at Anna George Salon in Illinois Center, then walk to the Fannie May store at 343 North Michigan Avenue, at the southeast corner of Wacker Drive and North Michigan Avenue, across the street from the Michigan Avenue Bridge. There, I'm greeted by Arlene, a 20-year veteran who recalls (like me) when Fannie May had three locations on the Magnificent Mile and knows my monthly order by heart. One one-pound box of dark chocolate mays or buttercreams and one one-pound box of assorted chocolates chosen by me. Six milk chocolate pixies, the company's best seller ever since they were introduced in 1946, three raspberry buttercreams, three orange buttercreams, three lemon buttercreams, three strawberry buttercreams, three dark chocolate buttercreams, three milk chocolate buttercreams, three caramel buttercreams and three Trinidads. I"ve been enjoying the creamy taste of Fannie May chocolates since my mother used to bring them home from shopping trips in the 1950s. If there is anything more pleasing to my taste buds than a Fannie May chocolate, I haven't found it yet. Fannie May opened its first store in Chicago in 1920. Today, it has 62 stores nationwide, 46 in Illinois. Open from 10 to 7 Monday through Thursday, 9 to 8 on Friday and Saturday and 9 to 6 on Sunday, the flagship store at Wacker and North Michigan offers 118 products. Stop by.
