Walking with Alpacas

点评：We were met on arrival to the farm by our lovely hostess Briar and taken to meet the animals. First we hand fed the small flock of black sheep, some cheeky ones pushing forward to get as much food as possible and a few more timid ones hanging back as if waiting to be invited.
Next was a visit to the stables to meet the horses who seemed interested to meet us too as each one took food from our hands and allowed us to stroke them...such magnificent, noble creatures.
Then came the alpacas. Again some hand feeding helped with a positive introduction along with a few tips about how to manage the alpacas on the walk and after a few minutes, with an alpaca each, we set off. The farm is set up high on the hillside with fabulous views across the valley and was so peaceful as we strolled along the well trodden path. The alpacas are beautiful, gentle animals and easy to walk at a comfortable pace. They respond best to people who are calm and we certainly felt relaxed walking along with them and sometimes stopping for the animals to nibble at the surrounding greenery. Briar shared her knowledge about the alpacas, so we learnt quite a bit about our new friends. She also made sure we had opportunities for lots of great photos with all the animals.
By the end of our walk, we were in love with the alpacas and felt it was a privilege to spend time with these wonderful creatures. This was truly a delightful and memorable experience.
