点评：In April this year, I had the pleasure of joining a river expedition organized by Guyana Truly Wild and Wildtales Inc. The journey lasted six days, traveling from the village of Yupukari to Awarmie Mountain along the Rupununi River. The expedition was called “Rupununi 99,” named after the 99-mile distance covered.
We travelled in canoes supported by a backup boat from Guyana Truly Wild. The entire experience was nothing short of magical. Ashley Holland and his team—Josey, Rambo, and Grace—were exceptional throughout. They created a perfect balance between adventure and participant involvement, while still ensuring a surprising level of comfort. Each day, they efficiently set up camps, prepared excellent meals, and shared their deep knowledge and fascinating stories about this remarkable part of Guyana.
The journey was filled with unforgettable moments: close encounters with the rich wildlife of the Rupununi River, visits to stunning lily ponds in lakes along the way, and finally a hike up Awarmie Mountain, offering breathtaking, unparalleled views over the jungle and surrounding mountains.
I can only highly recommend Ashley Holland, Guyana Truly Wild, and the entire team behind the expedition. They are true professionals in every sense when it comes to adventure travel.
