点评：I needed a taxi to get home from Tunbridge Wells hospital to Crowborough at 3.00am. I haven't used a taxi for years so I just chose the one that came up first which was 888. The office quoted me £30 which I thought was reasonable. When the driver turned up he asked me if I was paying cash which I said I could. He also discussed the fact that the main road to Crowborough was closed for road works so I expected him to go through Mark Cross. However, he drove at around 60mph along Pembury Road clipping the roundabouts like a race driver. This caused me pain as I had a swollen and sore leg. He carrered straight through Tunbridge Wells only slowing for speed cameras. When we got to the road closed signs he carried on until we got to the actual road works. He then said he would have to go round the road closure so the fare would increase.
He then went down some small roads and tried to get back on the main road by Eridge Station. However, this was also closed so we had to go through Lye Green. When we finallly reached my house he told me the fare would now be £55. When I said I was quoted £30 he said the fare was £40 but he had to charge more because of the route he decided to take. As I am currently unemployed this was a big increase. I felt that I had been ripped off because he chose to go that route, not me.
