点评：Disappointing Stay with Multiple Issues
We booked a lodge at St. Andrews Lakes, hoping for a peaceful getaway, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. We chose this location specifically for its advertised wellness centre, only to discover upon arrival that it was closed. This was not communicated to us in advance, and we received no compensation for this inconvenience.
When we raised the issue and requested to cancel the booking, we were told that no refund would be offered, despite the wellness centre being the primary reason for our stay.
The lodge we stayed in faced a busy A-road, which meant we were constantly disturbed by traffic noise, rather than the peaceful setting we had anticipated. Additionally, a watersports event was held right in front of our lodge on Saturday, followed by a loud illuminated paddleboarding event that went on late into the evening. Unfortunately, we had not been informed of these activities ahead of time, and it greatly impacted our ability to relax.
The view from the lodge was also disappointing, as it overlooked a nearby housing estate rather than the scenic landscape we were expecting.
To add to our frustration, after we left a day early, we were informed that our £250 deposit was being withheld for alleged water damage to a door. We were not made aware of any issues during our stay and have yet to receive any evidence regarding this claim.
Overall, we left feeling very disappointed. We would recommend that potential guests carefully read reviews and consider other options before booking.
