点评：We were never told by the shockingly unfriendly attendant who collected park entry fees that the last opportunity for a self-guided driving tour had literally just ended (maybe 7-10 minutes earlier) but happily grabbed our *$10 PER PERSON* car entry fees. Then we find out AFTER we’re in the park this is the case & if we want to come back in the morning to do it…yep, another $40 entry. OR they could take us on an open air tour (yes, it was almost 100 degrees at 4:45 pm and impossibly windy blowing the red sand everywhere)—and that privilege for $95 EACH. The despicable attendant should’ve told us and let us turn around. We would’ve happily come back tomorrow but now we will simply warn everyone that they only care about money (which we sadly found to be generally the case in this whole Navajo-run area of the country—an overcharge for Everything Possible) and there was no help with any questions to be found at the poorly-run visitor’s center. (“Closed” signs posted for things that if you wandered around enough, found to be open, that kind of thing.) It was a ghost town except for—you guessed it!—people working the souvenir sales counters. AVOID this place & just take your beautiful pictures as you drive outside this money-grubbing place.
