点评：As a local, I've watched downtown Flushing evolve from when I was a kid, a teenager, a young adult and to the present day.
It's always been known for its vibrant energy, the myriad of street vendors clogging the sidewalks, and extensive shopping options.
There's a Macy's, a Duane Reade, and the library on Kissena.
For a newcomer, the area can be exciting with so much to see, do, and look at.
There's no shortage of dining options, you can grab a snack or drink or if you would rather sit down, there are plenty of restaurants with various cuisines to choose from.
The street vendors peddle everything from clothes and accessories to unique cultural items and don't forget to haggle!
The high foot traffic can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours, making it difficult just walk on the sidewalk. You need to be patient, though its hard.
The marketplace atmosphere does give you a taste of community life, how shoppers of all ages purchase their groceries.
If you've never visited downtown Flushing, then you should make this a stop on your list to see.
It's easy to get to, last stop on the 7, and you can't leave without getting a meal or a snack!
