Great week walking in Sico Highlands/ GR26

点评：My partner and I completed this tour in May 2026. We are from UK and inquired/ booked everything online. A2Z were very efficent and good communicators despite the language barrier - they spoke and wrote perfect English. They seem to be a professional outfit and we were reassured by their systematic approach and clear instructions. They also found a good solution when our holiday was threatened by fully booked accomodation for one of the overnight stops.
The tour itself was well-designed and highly enjoyable. We were in very rural/ quiet areas; some of the accomodation was a little spartan but that was the price of visiting this beautiful area independently (and all the hosts were lovely people). It was also balanced by other nights in some excellent/ swanky hotels. The walks were very much as described and Francisco our local contact was extremely welcoming, helpful and supportive so again we felt we were in good hands. We are in our late 60s and used to walking holidays we found the walking on this tour was quite demanding but highly enjoyable; be prepared for the first day, we really felt the 20 km +662 m elevation gain!
Navigation was very good with the supplied app Ride with GPS prepopulated with each day's route (and updated where need be); be aware the app is free but only for 7 days after activating and then there seems to be quite a hefty annual fee if you dont cancel it. So dont activate it before you need to, you could probabaly wait until arriving in Pombal on day one before doing so.
We rounded off the tour with two extra nights in the nearby coastal town of Figueira da Foz, which we arranged ourselves
Overall this was a very good walking holiday in a lovely unspoilit rural part of Portugal
