点评：Atal Tunnel, Rohtang is boon to the people of Ladakh & Jammu and Kashmir, as they can move between two states throughout the year. One can see the difference in views at both ends of the tunnel. We reached South Portal before 7am to avoid traffic & tourist rush. South Portal Valley has trees on hills, looks green on white snow. North Portal has different views of the nature. Barren or few trees on snow clad mountains, Chandra river flows alongside the road creates mesmerizing views. I will recommend to go up on Leh Highway to Darcha, Deepak Tall & Suraj Taal to take once in lifetime views of the nature. We were there on 13th April, 2026. Our car was allowed till Darcha, as there was snow ahead on the roads. Only 4x4 vehicles were allowed. Rented vehicles are available at Keylong. Most stunning views of snow clad mountains, only blue sky, no traffic, no pollution.

This engineering wonder connects the North Portal at Sissu (Alt 10,075 feet) in Lahaul Valley and South Portal (Alt. 10,040 feet) at Dhundi.
