点评:This was a great little cooking experience in Sanur. Our host Wati was very lovely along with her assistant Tami. There were just four people in our morning class which meant we all had the opportunity to participate. The trip to the market beforehand was a bit redundant as nothing was bought from there for the class - would skip. The actual dishes we made were the best! From the authentic satay skewers to the slow cooked beef ‘bumbu Bali’ curry - it was so aromatic and flavoursome. We chopped and ground up all the pastes and marinades and then participated in the cooking. The best part about this cooking school was we ate a couple of dishes at a time after cooking them before moving on to the next recipes. This allowed us to fully enjoy the flavours and not get too full at once.
The actual space is a classic outdoor Balinese kitchen which is simple but efficient and clean.
The only thing missing was our host providing more information about the dishes, ingredients and cultural aspects of it all - more of this input would have been welcomed. I liked the fact we got actual printed recipes to take home, plus door-to-door transport service.
Overall, a great experience for a morning in Sanur.
