马特洪峰冰川天堂（观景台）的点评
点评：We had a fantastic experience during our visit to Glacier Paradise. The base station is a bit far from Zermatt’s train station. You can walk it, or it’s easier to just take one of the free shuttle buses that run in Zermatt. Once there, you will take a cable car up; initially it’s a small cable car before transferring to a larger one that takes you up to Glacier Paradise. There are stops along the way that you can disembark as long as you continue in the same direction. I would recommend stopping at least at Schwarzsee and Trockner Stag. Schwarzsee has very nice views of the Matterhorn. Trockner Stag has much larger facilities including retail, dining and free toilets.
Once at Glacier Paradise, there are multiple things to see including a cinema room that was a bit underwhelming, an elevator up to a viewing platform with spectacular views, an ice cavern, and a restaurant. There are toilets by the restaurant that cost CHF 2 or EUR 2, but you could use them for free if you made a purchase at the restaurant. The restaurant was smaller than what we saw at Trockner Stag, but had hearty food. Note that you should dress appropriately as this was the coldest spot during our visit to Switzerland.
As we visited in late April during shoulder season, there were no queues or crowds. Tickets can be bought onsite, and the Swiss train pass or Half Fare Card entitled us to a steep discount. As with many places in Switzerland, it is worth checking the webcams before heading up to make sure you have good weather.
