点评:Museum is a hidden treasure. Before going to Poitier, I researched. It seemed that museums were in turmoil, some closed or restricted. The TIC did not know either. We found the StX by the Cathedral and at first sight it did not look encouraging - what is here; no posters etc outside.
Have to say that we had one afternoon left, so went along. It is very good! The downstairs archaelogy is stunning; and higher up the displays are really interesting, some famous names and pieces too. I loved The Waltz. Also the costumes for the Virgin of the keys in the Cahedral.
However it was almost empty. The ticket-printing machine needed scissors, refreshments were machines. Access to the art was along a blank corridor through a door which looked closed. I appreciate they are doing some work - but a few temporary signs would help! Unless they can up the game on publicity and welcome etc, this museum may be at risk. It is the City Museum after all; should be on every tourists itinerary - put it on yours. Next to Baptistry (q.v.)
