点评:You can visit Miles Canyon in winter from Chadburn Lake road. The access from the Alaska highway was not open and with the snow Whitehorse received this year, there is no possibility of parking along the highway and walking in.
Off Chadburn Lake road you can park at the cross-country ski trails parking. There’s a few snow shoe trails leading up to the Canyon and it is possible to hike on foot as well.
Beautiful trail across the forest to get to the suspending bridge (maybe 10-15min walk one way) but trails continues.
Other than a tiny portion of open water, the river/canyon was mainly all frozen. Maybe it freezes every winter or perhaps it is because Yukon just went through 3-4 weeks of record breaking cold weather (-30 to -50 Celsius). This said, the canyon isn’t as picturesque as you see on pictures in the summer or early winter.
Certainly still worth for the nice hike in! We enjoyed our 2 hours in the area.
