Gorgeous bird conservation with outdoor play

点评：I had this on our long list of places to go one day for quite some time and when I made the booking I must admit I did expect there might be a bird of prey display. I read afew recent reviews last night and realised that wasn’t the case and I got a bit nervous when I saw quite afew recent negative reviews.
However we have just had an absolutely lovely experience at birdworld today minus a bird of prey or parrot show. It wasn’t needed.
The conservationist we met at the penguin feeding when we first arrived made me realise this is not a theme park. It’s about supporting and raising awareness about the care and conservation of endangered species of birds.
The people who work there are dedicated and enthusiastic about breeding the species they can help with some which are on the edge of extinction.
It was a sunny day which obviously added to our experience but the variety of plants and trees are beautiful as is the new outdoor children’s play area. We ended up wandering around for 4.5hours with discovering the laughing kukaburough and absolute highlight.
And then surprisingly there was a beautiful wildlife garden with an inspiring and interactive talk about insight into the moths that live in our gardens the importance of Hedhogs bats bees butterflies also honoured here.
We were a family of three with a 10 year old with us who even though was on the older side of all the play area parts absolutely loved seeing birds that would otherwise only exist os a google photo. I thought as we were walking round that visually all the planting rivals anything at Kew Gardens. (Although in a much smaller scale)
