点评:Pinky Point Lookout at Thevenard, south-eastern part of Ceduna, is a stunning viewing point to see the coastline, the huge silos and shipping jetty that handles bulk grain, gypsum, salt and zircon. The focal point is a wonderful mosaic lighthouse paying tribute to those who were lost at sea.
When we visited, the signage next to the lighthouse listed lives lost at sea from 1900 to 2008. The Lighthouse is a community project uniting several groups and was dedicated in 2008. The vibrancy and detail of the mosaic is indeed worthy tribute and is a must when in Ceduna.
For those who enjoy walking or cycling, a 7 km out-and-back walking/cycling track runs from Ceduna Jetty to Pinky Point around Murat Bay. If driving, the roads take you through Thevenard and you will often notice many Greek flags flying. This is because of the many Greek migrants, mainly fishermen, who migrated and settled in the area.
Pinky Point Lookout is well worth visiting no matter what the weather is as then an idea of the varying moods of the ocean can be experienced.
Return? This location is always on our itinerary when visiting Ceduna. And it is on the Bucket List as well!
